The Concorde is a supersonic turbojet passenger plane. It was a product of the idea of supersonic transport realized by companies from France and Great Britain operating in concert. It was flown for the first time in 1969. Seven years later it was introduced to the world for 27 years of service. The Concorde flew mostly on Transatlantic routes. From London Heathrow (British Airways) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (Air France) to JFK airport in New York and Dulles in Washington. It reached record speeds; the flight lasted about half as much as with traditional planes. Only 20 planes were produced due to high production costs and expensive operations. The last Concorde flight took place on November 26, 2003.
